2/27/2024 0 Comments Sam rocket power characters![]() Working Title: Rocket Beach, the name of the pilot, was the working title for the show before it was changed.What Could Have Been: Sam was originally going to be from New York instead of Kansas.The episode is also a retread of the Hey Arnold! episode Eugene Goes Bad, and the Sabrina: The Animated Series episode Feats of Clay where Otto, Eugene and Harvey find out that their favorite action star is a prima donna that doesn't even do his own stunts.Another Season 1 episode, "The Wrath of Don," uses a very similar Nice Character, Mean Actor plot as an episode of The Littles, "A Little Drunk." The main difference here is that the Hollywood actor in the Littles episode acts mean is because he is an alcoholic, while with Rocket Power, the actor is just a flat-out Jerkass.The main difference is that Arnold and Gerald don't get caught when they play hooky, while Otto and Sam do get caught when their roller coaster gets stuck and ends up on the news, just as Raymundo and Tito are watching. The Season 1 episode "Snow Day" is basically a combination of two earlier Hey Arnold! episodes "Hooky," where Arnold and Gerald skip school, have a horrible time, and end up missing a Surprise Carnival Day, and "Roller Coaster," where Arnold and Eugene get stuck on a roller coaster.He comes back around to his former self by the end. Lee Ermey playing a former Drill Sergeant Nasty who eventually started taking anger management classes and is now an earth-loving hippy who calls himself Sparkles. Playing with Character Type: "Saving Lt.Jordan Warkhol, the voice of Eddie, voiced Oliver in the episode "Mr.She was replaced by Denise Dowse as the voice for the character for the rest of the series. CCH Pounder voiced Officer Shirley for Season 1.After voicing Twister for the first 3 seasons, Ulysses Cuadra was replaced by Gilbert Leal for Season 4 due to the former hitting puberty.After Sam's first voice actor Sam Saletta hit puberty after Season 1, Gary LeRoi Gray voiced the character for Seasons 2 and 3.Orphaned Reference: The big "N" on Sam's shirt stands for "New York," which was where he was supposed to be from instead of Kansas.Missing Trailer Scene: Many early promos for the show used footage from the Rocket Beach pilot, with the most noticeable difference is that Twister appears to be Asian and his skating helmet is blue instead of red.Bits of it can be seen in the original title sequence (the animation is closer to the As Told by Ginger pilot).
